Today marks a sad day as blues legend B.B. King passed away last night at the age of 89. He was a huge inspiration to many guitarists of the ’60s from Eric Clapton to Jimi Hendrix. One thing I really admired about his playing, especially as a guitarist myself, was that every note he played counted. There was no filler. Each note was supposed to be there, so precisely. And then there’s his unmatched dynamic ability, playing super quietly to an all out emotionally charged loud solo. He truly was the king of the blues and will be dearly missed.
